Default Events from Sunday (no pics, sorry)

Mounted the swim platform Saturday. Went well and looks great. Problem is I now know the exact state of the wood in my transom. Motor flexes the transom so I knew I would have to deal with it before long. It will be a DIY as I've fiberglassed before. Drilled bottom mounting holes and the wood came out soft and wet. Anyway, all went well. Boat ran exceptional all day Sunday. Lightining ran us out early, so I put the boat on the trailer and went to give the winch one more turn. My crocs didn't stand a chance on that slimey boat launch. As I picked my butt up out of the water I noticed blood puring down my leg. Pegged one of the bolts holding the tounge jack on. Wrapped my shirt around my leg, hopped in the back of the Suburban and my wife began pulling us out. She made a left turn just out of the launch and the bow of the boat caught the open driver side barn door on the Suburban. Needless to say it won't come close to closing now. Already called the insurance co. Thank god for the $250 deductible.

Did I say the boat ran well? Oh well, its only money (and stitches). :(

Sorry I forgot the darn camera.
Maury

;)

Can't blame her for the truck. I was sitting two feet away staring at the boat and I didn't see it coming.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune Flounder. I know this doesn't help any, but as they say, it could have been much worse.

Are you up to date with tetnise shots?

Don't want to hear you got lockjaw besides.

Well anyway, you had a good day on the water before the incident.

I think it's safe to say we all "feel your pain".

Just like crab fishing is the deadliest job, boat launching has to be one of the most hazardous recreational activities right up there with bull riding and hockey fights. I got a good slice in my hand last weekend from a "fish hook" in my power winch cable.

I also had to do a "stoopid human trick" at the ramp. "Bobbing for rollers" after I lost two because of rusted washers and hog rings. I knew they were bad but I've been putting off replacing all 32 sets @ $3.99 each. The trailer is soaking up all my boat dollars!

Hope you and the Subby get well soon.

Steve P.
