Default NJ Fishing Report 2023

Finally in the water!

Got out Sunday (twice with different crews) for limits of Black Seabass at Sea Girt reef. 60 fish for the day, plus some red hake.

The wind won't stop...

Word is there are giant BFT at The Farms.

Good job ,skunk. Yeah, wind has been brutal here also. Mostly SE, which is our worst wind. Sloppy in the gulf and the bays.

enjoy some fresh fish

Nice catch! Still alittle early here in NC but they are catching nice Mahi off shore and bottom feeders inshore. Going on vacation next week at the Outer Banks. Hope the weather will let up enough to let us catch a few fish.

Nice, skunk! Blowing here this morning. Gale warning until Saturday afternoon. We went to the Keys week before last. Never had such a hard time catching legal Mahi there before. Spent a lot of time and fuel for not many fish. Still, it was better than being at work.

Seabass are still filling the cooler along with ling(red hake).
Found some really nice seabass out at the Dave Moran (18 miles from Manasquan) but Sea Girt reef and Klondike rocks still have keeper fish.

I caught a HADDOCK in NJ! Delicious!

Dave Moran was covered up in sand eels. We saw two 50lb bluefin go airbourne. Sonar looked like they were shooting thru the sand eels but no takers...

inshore bluefin is about to pop.

Purdy feesh!!!!!!!!!!!! Just a tad jealous. Nice double dropper rig, looks like you have a diamond jig on the bottom instead of a weight

I can tie them in my sleep... we lose a lot of rigs when bottom fishing

Same here, the ones I tie look very similar. I use cheap 80lb mono in most cases, fishing in 80-100+ ft. I think I have mentioned it before here - my motto, 'y'all break em, I make em."
