Engine light

My friend has a ETEC 200 2.6, no high output. After running the engine for about 10 minutes the engine light comes on. It happened last week, he called his mechanic and was told to change the two filters and he had to reset two pins by pressing them down, that's all I got. After that when he started it up, it was fine. Now the problem started up again. Thabk GOD the boat isn't in yet, so before he brings the boat to the shop, maybe someone here might have an idea what the hell is going on. You all are great working on your boats and engines, so asking the think tank. I don't think it's a gas problem, he dumped all his old gas and put in all new gas, and everthing in the motor is new.
