Default 07.29.2018 - Fishing Jamaica Bay

We went out yesterday with the V20, Fluke fishing / Porgy fishing and it was a beautiful day, the weather was anyway . We fished all over the bay with not much to show for it. There were 7 short Fluke caught, 15 Porgy's with two for the pan, one 11" and one 13". All the others were legal 9 - 10", but we throw back 10 inch fish, too small and I can never figure out why they changed the Regs from 10" to 9". There were 7 Rockers (Seas Robins) caught and the crown was shared by three, a three way tie, a first. Hope you enjoy the video.

Jamaica Bay!

I grew up on Long Island...in Nassau County (HIcksville) All of my fishing was Oyster Bay, Bayville and shore fishing off Sound Beach. Normal stuff: flounder, blacks, porgies, blowfish, sea robins, occasional eel and dogfish.
Moved to Arizona in 1972, courtesy of the USAF and have been here since. Our salt wishing fishing now is down in Baja on the Sea of Cortez: grouper, triggerfish, Sierra, Pargo and Yellowtail.
I miss Long Island, especially the beaches, but not enought to move back there. Thanks for the fishing reports!

Mike
