Default New to me & Forum

Hi guys/gals. New to forum but have been lurking for a while as I have always loved the step lifts, now I have one to call my own.
I have a question regarding a possible upgrade/modification. Does anyone know of an issues/problems with using a MSD 6AL ignition box with my 1996 Johnson 150 vro?

Welcome, nice looking rig you got. The technical gurus will probably know the answer to your question.

Why would you want to add on a 6AL to an outboard? The igntion system on it is already hot enough to jump start your heart. And there is already a rev limiter built into your current ignition system as well as cold start and overheat protection.

Hi and welcome aboard. Nice V21 you have sitting on that trailer. What state do you call home?

I would say that would be a bad idea

Save the msd for your pickup

I doubt the MSD is as hot as what you have right now, if you want to upgrade your ignition, check out CDI ignitions. BTW, ditch your VRO and premeix

I am located in MA, the no fun state. I just had a extra box lying around and was curious if there would be any benefits. I certainly don't want to burn any hotter. It is near impossible to get fuel without ethanol.
