What's wrong with my HIN?
Just got my insurance cancelled because my HIN is not good. When I replaced my transom, I made a plate with the HIN that appears in both my bill of sale and my registration; WELA3824M80F20.
Well, the insurance came by to take some pics and underwriting determined that my HIN is not in compliance with USCG requirements of watercraft manufactured after Nov 1st, 1972. It should be a 12 Character Identifier and mine is 14 Character. Can someone shed some light on this matter? Thanks! Last edited by BuilderFL; 07-01-2014 at 07:14 PM.
