Default need help from the johnson gods

have looking for oil leak. went and cleaned everything down with carb clean and blew it dry will air. when starting motor i saw fuel coming out of what looks like a shrader valve with a black cap on the end of it and a red pointer at the base. i think this is were my problem is and it has been washin down over the vor pump. it is leaking at the base were it screws into a black box? question is what is this and how can i fix it? i hope someone can help me with this!!!!! and i hop it cost less than a vor pump. thanks in advance

I think Willy had that problem with his Johnson before he bought his new etec....I'll have to see if I can find the thread.

Yep.. Rw's right on the money. I have the same unit on my Johnson also. I've been told it's used to enrich (choke) the carbs if your solonoid fails. Never had to use it personally.

enrichment valve, they break a lot, after market has the end cap assembly if you can't get to a Johnson dealer

thanks rw went on the site you sent me then to skools ordered part(top cap,gasket and rep valve-pointer. should have them wed. hope that will take care of it. would have replied sooner but we were without power for 16 hours yesterday while duke energy did maintance. was only to be down from 1am to 4am!!! ask me how that worked out!!!!!!

Let us know how the fix works out...

Sounds like the Duke Energy guys had a round w/Murphy's Law...
