Default Just Bought a Fisherman 18 need capacity plate

Hello all, I am new here as I just joined recently. I have bought a 1987 18 Fisherman with a black max on the back. The boat is in very nice shape, although the floor is soft in one spot. It was well maintained but the capacity plate has worn out so badly, you can't make out what the limits are.

Two things,
A) does anyone here have a simular boat and can tell me caps?
B) Where can I get a new capacity plate made if possible?

I have tried to write to Wellcraft, but have heard nothing back and they only directed me to a local dealer.

Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Yes someday I want a V-20

Look elsewhere in these forums.. There are several places that make capacity plates to order. I wish I could remember the names, but you can find the threads in here. Welcome to the site!!

I live out in the western part of the state, South Hadley. I'll go check out the link. Does anyone have the correct capacities for that 18 fisherman ?

In looking through the archives, I see the boat weight is listed as 1750 lbs and has a max rating of 150 hp. The only thing I didn't see anywhere is the number of persons and or the max weight allowable (ie; 6 persons or 950lbs) that is usually also listed on the plate. Hopefully someone else will be able to chime in what that info.
Welcome to the site and good luck with the new boat.

Default Thanks guys

Just wanted to thank you guys out for the numbers. I am picking up the new interstate battery tomorrow to check electric out. Finished rigging the 150, now I need power. The boat was pretty well taken care of over the years, as we know if their not, it can be a pain to own an older boat. I look forward to getting this one ready for the vacation over the next two weeks. Hope there are still fish around to make good use of the float. I found a site online that produces new plates, $30 aluminium, $40 stainless, kinda pricey, but I am anal about that stuff. I am just hoping the old black max runs as good as it looks. Thanks again for numbers and making an old dog feel welcome.

Default Still looking

I am stillloking for those numbers for the plate. Anyone have an 18 fisherman or know someone who does, if so there could be a beer in it for the first to get me the winning numbers.
