Default Floundering report

I don't know if yall are familiar with "flounderin" but its something we do down here quite a bit. (Easing along shallow water and night with lights and a gig.)

Anyways...Ive got a good friend who does it alot and has a boat set up with a generator and lights just for this. He also happens to be a Mobile Bay Bay Pilot and is very good at it. Before we got on the water last night he gave me a tour of the Bar Pilot boat at Dauphin Island. All I can say is WOW...that thing is BAD! I got some pics of it but they are on another friends camera that is down there on vacation until next week so Ill post them up when I get em.

We got a few last night, but didn't stay TOO late.

I gots me some flatties to fillet and Ive got a serious desire to set me up a small boat specifically for doing this type of thing. Ive done it on foot before and SCUBA but never out of the properly set up boat. It was FUN to say the least! 8)

Ill just have to be careful because I may loose my job from staying out all night. Got in @ 2am this morning. ::)

Thanks guys...Blue I hear ya.

Ive got a buddy with a lil 15' tri hull walk thru, trailer, trolling motor and a great running 70 Johhnyrude he wants to sellme for cheap. I had one about like it years ago that I made into a center console and it was a great lil bay boat. Its wide and fairly light so it would get in really shallow water. Im thinkin about trying to get this one and do the same thing, but add a few goodies for flounderin. ;)

Id like to have a little light boat for the rivers or bays when its really calm and not have to tow the 18. Lots of the fishin I do around here could be done from a much smaller boat. 8)

GIGGIN. And it's too muddy in the summer around here to accomplish anything.
If you like beating your head against a wall, try it during the warm weather, there's too many boats stirring up the mud to be able to see.
Now from November to about the second to third good freeze, you can see and cut some butt.
