I'd be glad to pick it up for you and ship it....see if you can get an estimate on shipping...maybe 35 lbs and a box 48" x 16" x 32" as an estimate?? ship from 07005.

I sure appreciate the offer, RWilson. I did an estimate through UPS Store, and, yikes, the estimate was $143 by ground. For some reason it was saying billable weight of 127 lbs. even though I only put in 35 lbs. as the weight. I will look around some more, but I would certainly not want to pay more for the shipping than the price of the chair itself!

Yeah, I checked around again and I think it is the size of the box thing. If it was just 35 lbs., shipping would be a reasonable $27 and some change. However, with the size of the box (and I agree with your estimates of box size), there is a formula you go through (LxHxW/194) which equals about 127. UPS charges you the greater of the actual weight (35 lbs.) or the "density" of 127 lbs =$143. Kind of BS, I think, because the box is really not all that big or heavy. Thanks again for the offer though.

I know it may be too late, but check with Greyhound, they are usually real reasonable on stuff like that, as long as it fits under the bus.

Thanks Randleman. I never would have though of that. Greyhound's price would be $49.80, less than 1/2 of the UPS cost.
