Default Bluefish

My son took out the other V today in the Pasquotank River, he called and said the taylor blues were rolling on top and he couldn't drive the boat and fish by himself. He came back in and got me and we had a great 3 hours. I only caught about 50 fish and he must have caught 150. It was fun watching him have fun for a change. With his accident 2 yrs ago (had to have his right elbow removed) he has lived in pain every waking minute. Not to mention financial matters.

For a couple of hrs today it was if everything was normal before his accident, no pain no worries.

Thats great! I had no idea the blues came up into the Pasquotank like that. Thats pretty wild. I guess they can . A friend of mine caught croakers at Rays beach (close to the Winton bridge) a few years ago during a dry spell. The brackish water backs up in the Chowan river when it dont rain for a while. I might have ta go check them blues out!

It is one of the pleasures of life, for me bird and bow hunting along with fishing and evening pleasures. They are times to get lost from the world and its needs. good for you and your son

whats a taylor blue?

it's a infant bluefish, probably less than a year old.

Today I went fishing with a friend of mine back out in the river and we caught a 16 & a 17" white perch. Guess what? I caught a 15" gray trout way up here. I guess if the blue fish are up here then trout would be also.

My son went back out this afternoon after I came in and he loaded up on Rockfish. They caught their limit (3 a day and min 18" lg) plus 23 more. He said it was all you could do to keep the poles in the water.

Very cool. Im glad for your son to get back at it after such a tough time.

here we just call em bluefish. LOL

But a "big" bluefish here is 2-3lbs. State record is 17lbs but rarely do we catch em 5-6 lbs ....what about up that way?
