Default Transom cap repairs

I was going to replace the transom cap (cheap plastic) that dry rotted with something better. I decided to just go ahead and bite the bullet and glass it up.

Here are a few progress pics. Sorry or the quality all i had with me was my phone.

The new glass:

Area to be painted faired out:

After primer:

After paint:

I think that after I wax the surrounding hull and hit em together with some compound they should blend nicely.

Here is a before/after pic of the jack plate pieces.

Ones on the right have been polished up.

I cant wait to get the jack plate on...it will help with performance as well as a little more room in the boat. I will have to go through transom on the steering now though. Oh well, its all good.

I hope to get her mounted back on today and install the new steering, scuppers, deck plate, etc... Ill get more pics then. 8)

Nice job ! I did the same thing when I put my new motor on last year . Mine had metal trim that was all pitted and falling apart . Wellcraft should have glassed over the seam from the start. Good luck .
