:-[ Well, my V-20 is in the shop. I was headed out of the inlet on Sunday and noticed a weird sound eminating from the engine compartment. Sounded like I flipped a switch and went to "above the waterline exhaust". I continued until I was through the inlet and could safely drift and then killed the engine. Smoke was pouring through my rodholders so I grabbed an extinguisher, put the crew to the tip of the bow, and carefully lifted the cover. After the smoke cleared, I saw that the hose connecting the riser to another exhaust part behind the motor had blown and things had overheated on the port side. I drifted for awhile to let it cool down (and commenced fishing operations, of course). After about 2 hours, I started the motor and was able to idle along. Overheated again and I noticed water pouring out of the hose. I called my buddy boat for a tow and put her on the trailer with a work order to check things out.
What do you guys think I'm looking at/for? ??? |

If I had the funds, I would do it in a heartbeat! Only exception is that I would have twin 125's. I just like the insurance of an extra powerplant...especially now that I've had to endure the embarrasment of being towed into port! >:(
