Question type of wood recomendation

when i took my stringers out instead of plywood they used 3/4 trim boards as i would call them or 1x10 material and cut to fit the hull what im asking is which is better for the epoxy fiberglass gonna stick to better

ok i went and bought advantech flooring we use in bulding subfloors in houses the acx and cdx plywood looked like some second hand stuff and advantech has some water shedding capabilities since im doing this outside

Mike I'm surprised no replys yet on this one...I'm no expert, but the material you describe may not be the best choice as it doesn't sound ABSORBENT...to get the best strength from core/glass construction, I think it's generally acknowleged the resin needs to soak into the surface just a bit before it sets...water shedding material doesn't sound like it'll do that...

all the acx i have looked at has been wavy and delaminating but since i havent bought nothing yet cause of the rain here today ill keep looking and hoping they get some new stuff in

ACX Fir plywood is good . True Marine Plywood such as Marine Tech is Fir with fewer voids and they throw the glue to it, it has B-grade inner plies. The Marine Tech is more pricey than the standard ACX Fir. The choice depends on your wallet. There are other choices but I would stay away from engineered wood products like OSB or paralam beams. They have their place but plywood is proven to work.

im gonna keep looking for some good looking acx.its just a matter of finding it in the best condition
