|  Trailer set up opinions please 
			
			My trailer gives me a problem loading and un-loading with the bowsprit and anchor striking the front post on launch and recovery as Ozzie and Lee can attest to. Now I remove the anchor and if the ramp is not too steep I can clear and pull up to the stop, if it is steep like I find some pl;aces like the one in Barnegat Bay it is a jockey shift and push exercise to get it on without striking. So, my question is this, looking at the pic below, can I lower my winch and platform on the post and have the cable come over the top of the two rubber stops, or do I have to have the cable come through in between the two rubber stops?

			Thats not going to be an easy answer. we pulled the winch post off of all our big yard trailer for that very reason, you only have to get a pulpit hung up once to realize the amount of damage that can come from it. I'd shorten the post as low as possible, get rid of the dual v blocks and go to a single roller for a bow stop. I've seen some set ups where the winch is mounted fwd of the bow stop, on a separate post, that keeps it away from the pulpit. You use a separate strap to secure the boat once you've pulled it up to the bow stop. I'd still recommend keeping the anchor off the pulpit till you've launched the boat, might be a pita, but its better than damaging your boat. We used to just hang the anchor on the bow rail till the boat was clear of the trailer.

			Like spare said. Get rid of that double rubber V stop setup. Nothing but problems. Go with a three piece poly V roller setup right where the rubber mount is connected. One V roller in the middle and a flaired roller on either side and drop the winch down.

			Have you tried not dunking the trailer as low into the water...w/a power winch and rollers, it shouldn't be too difficult to let the winch do it's job and pull the boat up on the trailer w/out so much of it in the water...that way, the bow won't be headed straight into the winch stand and should come onto the trailer w/the pulpit UP insteada down...wish I could help you try it...hope it helps...

			Yea Ozzie I have loaded and unloaded at several diffrent ramps, with just the back wheels of the trailer in but the  trailer sets to high for that to work well. So I would pick up a single type roller, put it where the current double rubber stopper is mounted and lower the whole unit on the post (I can go down about three inches) and run the cable for the winch right over the top of the new roller. Did I get that right?
