Default for the airplane nuts

Long story short, a friend of the family gave my father an uncompleted home built airplane(Stitts Skycoupe). My father is a bonafide prop nut. He love airplanes, he's a member of the EAA, goes to two different chapters, but has never got his pilots license. I wasn't until he was well into his 60's that the FAA revised their physical requirements that would have allowed my Father to get a pilots license. Since then they have added the sport pilots license which doesn't require a physical. My Father had started a home built ultralight with his brother around 15 years ago, unfortunately his brother lost a battle with cancer and the plane was never finished. fast fwd to now, my father is 79, he was more than willing to undertake this project, he realized it was beyond his ability to undertake on his own. He decided to donate the plane to the EAA chapter he's a member of. They have quite a group of individuals in the chapter including several certified A&P's, a couple FAA inspectors, and several experienced builders. So here's the blog for the plane. http://eaa1114.blogspot.com/ make sure to review the older post on the plane over on the right side of the screen by month

Talking

Spare... I could use words like awesome, fantastic, etc to describe what I felt after reading that post, but I think the one that most suits the moment is heartwarming. The look on your dads face in the one photo about the happy donor says it all. That smile could light up NY city for a month! Thank you for sharing this.
