I went to this website and ordered the electronic ignition for the boat. These guys were $5 more than what I found on Ebay but don't charge for shipping so they were the cheapest over all. I expect to receive them in a few days and will install next weekend (I know, I know, with pictures).

So is there anything to do other than just switching out the points for that? Do you have to worry about the timing of the motor when you do that stuff?

Just installed it this evening. It was easy. (pictures coming) I did have to reset the timing. I'm sure it was off before I started the installation. I can scan and send the directions to if you'd like to read them. So far I have noted 2 improvements, smoother idle and easier starting.
