Default Repairs to Hull

Any suggestions on how to repair this. Now this is what I guess is called the gellcoat missing ?? The white stuff right.
My boat is going up on jacks next week at the boat yard, I have a feeling my fiberglass guy doesnt have the time to do or want to do the repairs, so I might be doing it myself.
I was first told to dewax the hull, then sand the hull with 80 grit sandpaper. After that to coat the hull with this stuff called interlux 2000E that seals fibeglass hulls because over the years they will obsorb water.
But what about the missing gellcoat ???, I have messed with fibeglass resin in a can before many moons ago working on cars, but not to sure when it comes with a boat. Been told I need something that flexs with the hull. Is this a simply gelcoat repair ? sand smooth, apply gelcoat bondo, sand and paint a DONE ?? Any advise will be great.
