Has anyone installed their replacement transom from the top? How about from the outside?
Thanks Richard |

Rich, never personally done it, but have read some impressive results from the SeaCast pour-in...unless somebody came up w/ some compelling reasons why not, I'd do it... ;)...

Here are two links to folks who have done the transom from the back. Also West Systems has a $3 how manual with a transom replacement article. Frankly . . . I think this screw and glue method of transom replacement from the back side it the easiest/strongest method.

That's how my '72 V-20 transom was replaced. I haven't hung a motor on it yet, but it looks to be very strong.

BS Blue I see what they have done and it is pretty work but I don't understand how that would be as strong as a replacement like Stinky is doing, where he is removing all the wood all the way to the edges and replaceing it with a whole new one piece section of good wood from side to side and top to bottom. Plus he is also replacing and tying in the stringers to the transom which makes it like a new boat or better in strength right or am I missing something else ???
