| Drought in Georgia

There are too many parts on this subject but it has been rumored that within 3 months the northern counties including Metro Atlanta will have completely depleted their available water supply. At this point most of the involved counties and cities have a total ban on any type of outdoor watering. The landscapes, amusements, carwash, etc. have been declared expendable to conserve the resource. This also affects the neighboring states as to downstream effects. The Corps of Engineers, Georgia Power, state and federal agencies are at this point unsure how to proceed and are in conflict. I regularly receive updates from various organizations and councils and the info is too vast to post here. MALTA http://www.maltalandscape.com/cgi-bi...E=/index1.html Urban Ag Council http://www.urbanagcouncil.com/water_issues/, GGIA http://www.ggia.org/ has info on this. At this point it looks bad, real bad.

If GA is getting rain like we are here in NC, then they should be gaining a few days supply. We are not going to catch up, but at least the dust will settle with the rain we are getting this week.
