They're normally pretty tough and can survive lackluster treatment i.e. being stuffed in a burlap bag and transported from your local inland reservior over to your local farm pond. I guess this behemouth was a lil over weight and probably up there in the years, as catfish go.
I stuck a pitchfork through a 10 lber's head one time and he flopped around for another 20 min. I was just trying to put him out of his misery. Oh well. So much for trying to be a humanitarian!
