Fact: The lower part of the brace on the swim platform is underwater anytime the boat is not on a plane. On my boat the brace was not through bolted because it was only about an inch and a half from the bottom. Have got to make some changes. For those of you who have a swim platform. How is your lower brace attached and how far is the bottom of the brace from the bottom of your boat?

I would shorten the lower brace and through bolt it. ;)

This is my swim step I installed over the summer. I came down about 2" from the underside of te rub rail. Everything is through bolted along with 5200.

Tsubaki, if I dont go with a bracket anytime soon. I want to install a custom platform that exstends further out and wider, so the weight of dive gear wont be a problem.

This is the type of platform I want to make. Perfect for diving.

You could use these. They are for boats, but not stainless though.

Clarification!! My swim platform/ladder is not like any of those shown. Mine only has one top rail. Also, it has a single brace which is attached to the bottom front of the platform. The single (bottom brace) runs from the front of the platform to within an inch or so of the bottom of the hull.
