I need to replace my expired flares
4 for the gun,$34.00
4 hand held $27.00
I was thinking of getting the electronic hand held flare, they are coast guard approved
Foes anyone have them? Are they good?
Buy it once and have them for a long time. $89.00

Like u ,I m tired of replacing and keeping up with expiration dates.
90 bucks is a no-brainer

I have a Weems & Plath SOS distress light in my ditch bag.

As you say, never expires so I'm always good for USCG.

I still carry a bag of expired flares and I do also have a Flare gun & flares

I'm offshore, overnight in my grady.

Hey Look at West Marine. They have them on clearance $42 !!!!

I have had the electronic Weems & Plath flares for 5+ years. I also keep a flare gun with expired flares on board. Haven't had the need to use one yet...batteries are fine so far. Probably time to install some new batteries.

There are other manufactures on the market now as well.

I am going to stay with the original flares, why you ask? ( 4 hand held and 4 cartridges) I got the hand held for $7.00 at Walmart today on clearance the cartridges are $27.00 so I got them and now I'm good for 2 years giving me time to search for the best priced battery operated ones. $7.00 for 4 flares, that's crazy clearance time at Wally World .

check the manufacturing date carefully when getting them of clearance.
I got hoo dooed like that one time

I couldn t find Skunk s deal on the west site, but I think electric is the way to go

January 2026. That's the experation date so I'm good for 2 years And I couldn't find skunks deal on west marine too

yep sorry. It was Clearance online last week, probably only one left and its gone now.

They sell Orion branded one now $99
