Default Whats it worth

Thinking of selling my 81 V20, what do you think it is worth?

Straight 6 140 HP with Mercruiser outdrive. 2 – 20 gallon gas tanks built in, but removable. Boat also has some nice bright interior lights to light up boat for night fishing. Nice boat with title.

Work recently done:
1. Patched (marine-tex) scratches, dents, and dings.
3. Fuel tanks removed and cleaned.
4. New fuel lines.
5. New water/fuel separator.
6. New ignition.
7. New Marine battery.
8. New plugs.
9. Oil change.
10. New Bilge pump.
11. New Bilge blower.
12. New used Prop.
13. Outdrive oil changed.
14. Tilt/Trim pump installed with new wire harness.
15. New Lightup compass.
16. Lower unit was replaced by previous user, no hours on it yet.

Electronics included with boat.
1. Raytheon Raymainre Ray 201 VHF.
2. Garmin 160 fishfinder (like new).

Float-on trailer

Boat will need:
1. Some wiring (mostly gauges on dash).
2. Some TLC. (wax, etc.)
3. New navigation lights.
4. Gas caps. Ones there work, but tabs on top broke, difficult to open.
5. Clam shell vent cover for blower out vent from bilge.
6. Replace anodes
7. Sand and paint bottom

I think this is pretty accurate of the work remaining.

Hmm........Will you start it for the person willing to come look at it??
And there is no mention of the new water pump you said you bought??
Power trim still not working right??

Might as well come clean, and say you selling V20 that needs repower.

I will give you $50 ;D

The power trim is working now.

I have not yet done the water pump, if I decide to sell, I probably won't replace it.

I plan on running it before attempting sale.

Bayliner....ugh. *The reason I am considering sale is because I co-own this boat with a friend and it is not working out. *Its starting to become a pain. *I also found a 25' Allman with trailer for 2k. Considering starting on that boat...alone. *

The Allman hull has just been completely redone including new paint job. *Needs power so the hull is cheap. *Considering sealing up the outdrive hole and putting twin outboards on it (go bracket young man,LOL) *

I am not tired of the V20 or working on. *I am tired of co-owning it.

Contrary to your assumptions, I would not try to trick someone here into buying a boat with a bad motor.

Yea, good guy, but it's getting to be a bit of a pain for both of us.

He is single and unemployeed (works under the table)
I work FT+extra, married, and have 2 kids.

Anyways, does $3k sound about right.

Golver, throw some fresh gas in it, a good battery and start it up man! Don't forget the muffs and water hose!

You can get it running! If me and my buddy can get his I/O mercruiser going with no experience, I know you can do it! Give it a try. If it doesn't start, post a thread letting us know the details. I know you can get it going fairly easily (as long as the motor has good compression).

Speaking of which, does the motor turn over with the starter? If so, why don't you check the compression? That's an easy test that will tell you whether you are wasting your time with that motor.
