Default New motor

Would there be any problems putting a 200HP etec on the Wellcraft, it's the same weight as the old Johnson? I don't see any, but it's always good get good advice from the ones who know.

Cool

Nope, no problems at all. In fact, I believe that Bgreene has one on his V21 and loves it.

I have a 200 HP Mercury on my V21 and will attest that it's perfect. I know a lot of people have 150's and 200's on their V20's and I've never heard anyone speak badly of them.

The only problem is when you shift to a 4 stroke engine and the extra weight that brings to the table.

If the transoms good - go for it .
V 20 rated for up to 225 hp

I have the 2005 first year Etec G1 200 HO.
Zero issues ....if you get one, you’ll love how quickly it starts when you turn the key- cold / warm doesn’t matter.
