Default North Carolina

Just wanted to see how many other NC V20 owners are out there. Hoping to share some info like good fishing spots, boat ramps, what repair shops are the best, etc. I'm in Onslow county and mostly stick to the New River but have plans to head out to the big water soon.

I live near Charleston SC, but I have a family place in Sneads Ferry, I dont have my V water ready, so i keep my 16 McKee at the house up there. Its walking distance from New River Marina. Once I get my V running, I'm going to keep it up there and probably sell the McKee

You'll have a little drive, but the best repair shop is Quality Marine Services in SC.

I am in the middle of the state, just north of Asheboro. When I go to the coast with the V20 it is usually around Holden Beach so I don't know if I can be of much help to you.

But yeah, you have to travel down near Charleston for the BEST mechanic.

went there over Memorial weekend, Neat place to visit, not a lot to do though. We rode down to Franklin and found Angle veil falls, there were several good places to stop off and wet your feet

Forgot to mention, I don't know anything about Marine Power Outfitters, other than buying gas at New River, I've never done much with them. I wouldn't take anything to Swan Point Marina. I knew Tommy Yopp, but I understand he's out of the business due to health issues. There a couple places in Hampstead that have decent reps, theres one on the right heading South as you get in Hampstaed, my wife knows the owner( I cant remember the name), I don't know about their work though. I've known Chris Jones(Jones Marine in Hampstead) for probably 30 years, but only recently found out he's running that dealership. A friend of mine that has a place around the bend from Chadwick bay deals with Marker 17 in Wilmington. Ive talked with them, they didn't impress me much. If you have to go that far, Bell Hart in Wilmington has some good people. I used to work with the service manager, and have dealt with them for years. I used to buy all my Mercury stuff from them till Mercury stopped drop shipping

Back in the land of heat & humidity.

Your kinda right spare, not a lot to do. Get up and drink coffee on cabin deck, eat big breakfast, pack picnic lunch, rent tube(best 5 bucks you can spend), go to deep creek, put chair in creek, sit. Then tube it 2 or 3 times. Eat lunch, repeat till late afternoon. Go back to cabin, cook dinner.

I meet my in laws and nieces & nephews, so bout 10-12 of us. We love it. Usually fish but that's getting too exspensive for out of state.

Never really thought how diverse North Carolina is, from hatteras to Bryson city is quite a range. You guys are truly in a great spot.
