Smile Wellcraft 1978 stepv20 weight

This may be a mute point, however I bought a 1978 Wellcraft V20 Cuddy Cabin. OK who cares, Ron. Well the boat is pristine condition and the Data plate is unreadable. I saw questions back and forth about the data plate. So today I contacted Wellcraft at the new location and Ray explained the move and mergers. Anyway we hit it off and I grobled like a two year old and he came up with the requested Data Plate. Now it may a year off based on the horsepower rating of 235. He sent the images and he approved the posting of it here for others. I hope this helps even one person besides myself. Ronwellcraftdata.JPG

Cool

Welcome to the site. Always good to see another V20 owner... especially a 1978, (Which as we all know was the best year made).

However, allow me to point out that the info you provided is great, but it is not the weight of the boat. That's the posted capacity weight and includes people, gear, fuel, electronics etc. The actual weight of the boat is less.

Talking

Seems like once or twice a year this topic comes up and then some old guy says the bare hull weighs 1920 lbs.

Guess I'm becoming an old guy.

Default Wellcraft 1978 weight step v20

The post was not for the weight of the boat but for its load capacity. I saw threads asking about the decal itself and my intent was not to get into the boats weight. I chased the answer from Wellcraft for a no kidding answer. Roy sent the decals for a cuddy 20.6. Ironic that when I looked at a picture I took of the Data plate I could make it out better than looking at the factory plate Since the boat has only 3 seats I was curious as to how many I could safely load if it had seats. Thanks for the clarification but I was not confused on that info.
