ill get you guys some better pics tomorrow. gonna be a quick project. throw it together, take my kid fishing and see what we got, what we want and what we need to do to it. havent even given it a good look over but the po told me that transom and stringers were redone a few years ago. looking inside the motor bolt holes im pretty sure i see seacast. definitely not wood. wasnt expecting that

heres the bad thing, and its pretty bad. im trying to be happy to finally have the boat home. but, the po met me halfway and the trailer i traded him for the boat didnt make it all the way to his home. i put all brand new suspension components under that trailer for him and it seems that some bolts came loose! i feel really fricken awful and before i can even think about mounting my engine i gotta make this dude whole. i dont know how, im pretty broke just trying to raise my kid. but even though i dont know this guy, we have texted a good bit past couple weeks and he seems like a really good guy. plus he is retired coast guard. plus daddy taught me that a good deal is when both parties walk away happy.right is still right and i cant call myself a man if i leave it as is

Sounds to me like you have a great father. If it's just nuts and bolts they are fairly cheap. You'll probably spend more for gas to get to him. Ask him if you can just send him the parts and would he mind attaching them. In all cases, congrats on getting the boat home. She looks like a beauty. Do not take your kid out until you have thoroughly checked out the boat and the engine. And as I'm sure you know.. life jackets are a MUST!! Cheers.

he made it home with the trailer, eventually. i bought a "kit" from the local marine supply that came with nuts and lock washers. shoulda had locknuts. cut the old stuff off with a grinder so didnt notice what was on there. i replaced everything, not just what was needed. kinda funny that now "i dont think i can trust these axles" and "these tires dont seem to be round enough". that trailer has served me well and those tires are fairly new. not to mention "oh, by the way, youre gonna need to replace the fuel lines on that boat" which probably means new fuel tank. and a few other things that arent what i expected, but i knew i was getting a USED boat. and when we met we both looked over the rigs before we swapped so i aint gonna complain. i am gonna buy dude a new set of tires, or at least pitch in the bigger chunk depending on cost. so i wont have the money to get this one on the water rite away but ill get it soon.

over all, the boat is pretty solid. nothing unsafe about it. came with the factory bimini and enclosures, all in good shape. ill never use the enclosures though but kinda cool. forgot how small these boats are!

gonna have to pull the merc back off and take a grinder to that aluminum cap. holds the motor too hi for me to use the top bolt and wont let it set flat against the transom if i use the second bolt. i do plan to remove the cap and glass it in but first i plan to fish. if i like the boat and decide to keepit i will do some stuff to it this winter

really just run the motor like that for the summer, lol. but im worried i might damage the transom. kinda worried i might not have enough cap left if i cut away the clearance needed. dont have any aluminum to put a spacer between the motor and the transon to level it out, or money to buy some. i just wanna hook my motor up and go fishing!!!
