Default Converting from 3.7L to 3.0L mercruiser

Has anyone done this exchange and how does the boat run with the smaller unit??

Mercrusier recommends replacing the 3.7L with the 3.0L.

Thanks guys...

Steve

I'd replace the 3.7 with a 5.0/5.7, cheaper than the 4.3, many more options available, plenty of parts and support. More than enough power. The 3.0 isn't all that cheap either

What happened to the 3.7? I rebuilt my 170 six years ago, its still running strong. Could you rebuild the original engine?
