Default Murrell's Inlet Report 8/3/2013

Watched the weather and made the decision at the last minute to head offshore on 8/3 for some bottom fish. Three of us aboard Blue Runner. Pretty much the same report as last time except got a couple triggerfish this time and the seabass were a little bigger - 15" - 18". Fished 4 or 5 different spots before getting on them at a new spot we've never fished. Will be heading back there next time. Ride out was a little bumpy as we made only about 20 mph average. The ride in was nice at 30+ mph. It was hot and we stayed busy - actually nobody even asked what time it was until 1:30 pm (left dock around 6 am). Started at a spot 30 miles off in 60' then steamed 16 miles further off to hit spots in 100' - 110'.

Had a great time once again.

15 nice BSB
6 pinkys
2 triggers

We could've had our limit of keeper bass in probably 30 minutes if we weren't so picky. The idiotic 5 per person limit is why. If I can only keep 5 per person I only want the jumbo's! Next time Mr. Trigger and his buddies are going down. Gonna be changing tactics for those nibblin bastids. By the way, the water was like tea even out there. Never seen it so murky 40+ miles offshore. Maybe why we didn't catch a single shark this time? And only 1 amberjack.
