So has anyone had to replace a riser recently on a 3.7? Can't find one anywhere, all three manufacturers are on back order with no projected ship date in sight. I checked everywhere, mine has an alum manifold and seems to be the hardest to come by. Didn't know if anyone else is having or has had issues with the availably of risers. I am even considering engineering something and dumping the discharge RW further down from the riser on the rubber hose. My only concern would be keeping the contact point between the riser(which is dry) and the rubber hose cool as this was the original intent of the design. Thoughts, ideas, concerns.
165hp RWC, just FYI. Last edited by NorthernNeckV-20; 08-17-2013 at 09:16 AM. |

My buddy just rebuilt his 170 top end and had the same trouble finding a new riser, He found a new one at a Mercruiser dealers site. I think he paid close to 500.00 bucks for it but it is an original replacement part. I think its a 98561 part no. Ill call him and find out where he got it and let you know.

There out as well. I have called every supplier listed and the same story every time. One lady I talked to at Boat Bandit was really helpful, she checked all the availability of all three and found nothing. Apparently, they have been a master distributor for Osco for a long time and said it all started when they moved production over seas, image that! She did say that Merc was showing an overdue status on their backorder. Trouble to come for sure. Thanks
