Default Engine wont start

I recharged the battery today and fitted back into my boat. Switched on the ignition and the boat turned over but didnt start. I switched the ignition off then back on again, but there is nothing. I was wondering if it could be a fuse for the starter motor (everything else seems to work)? Any thoughts and pointers as to where to look for the fuse ( I have a Wellcraft 192 sport). Many thanks

it could be the battery is not fully charged or maybe bad. Did you try another battery?

Well it would not be a fuse for the starter if it is cranking over.

As Aussie said--check for spark, then check for burnable fuel. After you check thoselet us know what you come up with and we will see what else we can help ya with.

Thanks for your replies. The engine did initially turn over, however when I switched off then back on there was nothing, not even a click from the starter motor. All the electrics seem to operate, I can raise and lower the inboard volvo penta engine in and out of the water, work the water pump etc. I would be surprised if the battery didnt have the power to turn over the engine, this is why I thought more about the starter motor (even with little power in the battery I would have thought I would here the solenoid coil on the starter clicking)? Thanks

jiggle teh shifter and try to restart. If that doesn't work, check the main wire harness plug on the engine, make sure its tight and secure

Starter solenoid or neutral safety switch. Try jumping the solenoid terminals with a screwdriver. If nothing happens, check out the neutral safety switch on your control box.
