I have a 73 cuddy that i just purchased, the deck is soft in area's and i can see the stringers are toast in the bilge (someone reinforced it with PT 2x12's) but i am also noticing that the deck pitches from the center to the liner quite substantially. This seems strange since the deck is not self bailing. The deck has also been painted ,i am guessing someone did somekind of build up repair, the soft spots are in the low areas at the side.
Do the stringers typically rot out right to the front,I was hoping to just remove the deck aft of the cuddy,is this wishful thinking? TIA |

sadly, probably very wishful
expect to replace every structural piece of wood in the boat and quite possibly the fuel tank too |
