Default Health update

As I have said the Gastro Bypass has done its part, I am now 180 # from 340 # this time last year! High blood pressure gone, a 400 cholesterol now 150, 21 years Diabetes gone, all meds gone! Doc says great!!

But the diabetes is still killing me off! My eyes had bleeds and they were stopped with lazer treatments over the years. But that caused a lot of scaring which caused detached retinas, so they fixed them over the last year, but that causes cataracts, so I have had one fixed but still waiting on the other. Not as good result as Doc wanted but it is still much better!

I an still having problems with my blood pressure dropping when I stand, which made me fall on the dock the other day. Thats being treated but its not much better, Doc says that it should burn its self out and get better with time?? I getting sick of waiting!

The last thing is Kidneys they are at about 18% and Doc is sending me to Boston June for blood typing and other stuff to add my name to the kidney transplant list. He says I am close to needing Dialysis but not yet. I have had my veins mapped out already so they are ready to put ports in my arm when ready.
I have a brother that has said he will donate a kidney to me, but we have to get all the testing done to see if we are a match?

So all this has kept me from posting as much as use to, and not sure how much fishing I will do again this year? But I am trying!
I am also driving CB nuts calling him all the time to talk! He is one guy I have meet thur the internet, that is a true friend! And I appreciate very very much! Just incase I never said it to you CB !!

Ok I have rambled on long enough!! Thanks for listing guys!

It's great to have true friends. A person is lucky if they have one or two in their lifetime. Sounds like you've got one in CB.
Don't worry about rambling on. Speaking for myself and I'm sure the rest of us it's great to hear how you're doing.
Prayers will continue to be sent for your speedy and continued recovery. Hang in there guy.

Good to hear that you're gaining ground on your health issues.

Blood pressure dropping when you stand is a classic symptom of adrenal problems, specifically low cortisol. Mainstream medicine overlooks the endocrine system as the cause of much of what ails us. Your adrenal glands produce 150+ hormones, and control blood pressure, insulin resistance, cholesterol, mineral balance and much more. Why they're pretty much ignored by the mainstream baffles the **** out of me.

There is a simple and inexpensive test to check your cortisol - http://www.amazon.com/AM-Cortisol-Ho.../dp/B004BT8FGC

Be well.

It's been a long process and still a long road ahead. Take it slow.

My available time can be busy, but if there is a way I can help to get you out fishing again soon, let me know. I am sure I could learn a lot from a pro...

I think you guys misread MJ's post or he didn't effectively voice his issues. While the gastric bypass has helped his Diabetes issues, he has so many other new issues going on that, at times he feels he was better off being overweight and still injecting insulin.
He hasn't turned any corner and isn't gaining any ground on his health issues and the doctors really haven't come up with any answers as to what's going on. These issues have lefty MJ sidelined to the point where he cannot work anymore. He cannot get out on his boat unless his son or someone goes in order to do most of the work with regards to getting in and out of the water.
It's a tough situation for sure.

I guess all have the natural tendency to be optimistic and supportive...no doubt our hero, MJ is facing some pretty tuff issues that sound never ending...

Just know all here are thinking about you and pulling for your recovery...a day at the time, MJ...a day at the time...
