Default first post

Hey guys this is my first post here. I just bought my first v20 the other day. Its a 1990 center console with a 175 mercury. The boat seemed like it was in good shape. I couldn't find any soft spots at all. It hadl fresh bottom paint and had everything to make it legal in the water. The only things I found wrong with it was a few small cracks at the very top of the boat well above the water line which I should easily be able to patch. The other things were the speedo and the gas guage don't work which weren't a big deal to me. I paid 3800 for the boat motor and trailer which may not be the best deal but I've seen them go for way more in my area.

The only other concern I had was the outboard had no visible vin# and in ohio you need to title the motor so I'm not sure what to do about that. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do about that?

I just wantedto say hi to everyone. And say thanks in advamce

Welcome to the site!

I would bet that your merc has a number somewhere and someone else here would be able to steer you in the right direction.

Sounds like a great deal, would know better if we saw pictures!!!!

Hi and welcome :) For the serial number of a Merc outboard, look on the tilt mechanism just below the engine shroud.... unless it's been scraped off or painted over that's where you should find it.
