470 low speed question
Hi guys,
I have an 82 V20 with the 470 in it and I tried to troll with it the other day and the plugs kept loading up. I have no problems with running at low speed or docking normally, but after about 2 hours of running at 2 to 3 mph it would start to stall so I would rev it up in neutral and the water behind the boat would be black and then I could troll some more. The motor always shakes and does not seem to like running that slow but it never stalls when running in a no wake zone or docking. I was wondering if this is normal for this motor or if my carb needs adjusting. I also was wondering if an electronic ignition would help, I still have points. Has anyone else trolled with their 470? I usually run my kicker motor when trolling but it had water in the tank and would not run. Thanks...
