Default Wahooooo!

Got out there yesterday after sees were scheduled to be 2 or less. Wind picked up and once we got out there at 6AM sees were 2-4 or even 3-5.
Called it a day after we took one over the bow. Headed out about 5-6 miles looking for that early dolphin but no lock.

Took a bit of a beating but managed to catch this Wahoo.

Awesome! I caught my first and only V-20 wahoo a couple years ago. Had another slobber-knocker knock down but he snapped the line before I could blink...

Here's the one I caught. Looks about the same size as yours:

Hoping to get some more this coming memorial day weekend at the OBX.

Wahoo is without a doubt hard to beat. They love purple black, red black, blue white. Also you can increase your chances at wahoo by running a planer to get it down, although they fall for the flat lines/teasers on top close to the boat too. Joe you got it made down there with the nearshore offshore fishing!

Hey Reel - you guessed it - the hoo I caught ate a blue/white ballyhoo rigged Ilander.

The one I lost ate a red/white stretch 30 - drag too tight to prevent slippage (aka line leak)...also wrong rod and reel to be using (rookie mistake).
