Default Yamaha spark plug wires

So my spark plug boots have become increasingly looose. So loose that one popped completely off yesterday out on the water. It appears that the wires are molded directly into the packs ($70 each to replace pack and wire, ouch) It also appears that I can maybe replace just the boot? Maybe just give them a little squeeze with a pair of channel locks to at least tighten up the metall ring inside? Anybody replace just the boots and if so is that just the rubber boot or will it have the ring inside it as well?

give the rings a little squeeze, they shoudl click on the plug terminals. Put a zip tie around the boot after you put it on the plug and pull it tight
