Default Local Mercury Help?

So I picked up the 150 today and just realized that to mount it I need a lifting eye part # 91-90455-1 which threads onto the flywheel.

Anyone in the group by chance have this locally? Shop is closed for the weekend and doesn't look like motor will be going in without it due to no other way to carry the freaking thing.

i have taken a rachet strap and gone around the block and the put another one to lift with, but be careful. it's usually best to get the right lifting eye. i wonder if you could go to a fastner warehouse and get a bolt to fit the threads and lift it with that? they don't like to be dropped..

Any chance the flywheel has three holes in the top where a flywheel puller might attach? Use a puller and put an eye bolt thru the center to hook your hoist to. Just make sure your bolts are the correct thread and don't screw them in too far to save from getting into whatever might be lurking under the flywheel. I just took off an old 200 and didn't have the eye bolt just hooked the chain underneath the puller in between the bolts.
It sounds a little risky but it isn't provided you have the holes in the flywheel. If you can lay hands on the correct setup, go for it.
Sometimes I am forced to improvise.
BTW welcome back... I was disappointed when I hung the 250 on my CC. It sat lower in the back than I anticipated. I have the 30" setback. It flies but won't be on there for long it screwed with the balance too much. Your setback should work great with that Opti. Good luck.

I have changed a bunch of motors, yamha, rudes and merc, always used man power or a strap, not the best way and never the same way twice, but always got the job done!
