| Project V20 & Pictures

Well, finally pulled the trigger yesterday. Saw this V20 at a very seasonable price after seeing another that needed similar work quite a bit more. You'll prob. see tons of questions comming in the near future as I get this going. 1985 Steplift Sea Drive model. Priority 1 - Seal Sea Drive holes like asap 2 - Address floor which has 2 soft spots. One on left mid side and another on right rear section. 3 - Removing tank to inspect and fix draining issue from front box. 4 - Bracket & Power! Pictures taken after thorough pressure clean. Can't wait to see her on the water. Nice upgrade from a '67 17' Wellcraft which by the way I can't find any info on anywhere on the net. |

I'm LOVIN' that full tranny w/that gentle curve along top... ...Man that is SHAWEET!!...and the sea-drive is best to convert cause tranny is much better cored and has smaller openings...if I was startin' all over again, that's exactly what I'd go with... One thing I'll pass along (you may already know) is to use a 25" motor rather than 20" as the shorter will swamp when you throttle back coming to a stop... Anyway, post all the pics ya wanna...we love 'em here and they're real conversation starters...sounds like a great project you are about to start...do you do your own glass work?...

Will keep the 25" in mind when I get there. As far as glass work, I already posted another thread with glass questions. Gonna do it myself. If there is anyone on the forum in Miami that would have time to give a few pointers they would be accepted and accompanied with a kegerator full o beer! Otherwise i'll be doing a lot of reading and posting and working my way down the keg in the process. Did a little glass job in high school to cover the floor on a go cart. We will see how it goes. |
