Deal or No Deal?

How does this sound to you guys?

I'm looking at a 1991 225HP Yamaha. Runs great, compression checks out, tilt n' trim works, lower unit checks out, paint is good, steering arm is okay, it needs a shift rod replacement. I can do the work myself and figuring even $500 for parts if I can pick this up for $700 I think it would be a good deal. What do you think?

Also, how can I explain this to my wife seeing as how I bought the $250.00 200HP last week?
