Calling all Merc Mechanics
My "new" 1999 Merc 150 is overheating. I was hoping that it was giving false whistles because of dead battery but with a good battery it still alarms.
I started the motor and within 4 minutes the alarm went off. There was a good stream of water spraying out but the water was very hot. I am going to take Kajun's advise and check the thermostats. Are these the thermostat housings?   Also, shouldn't there be something attached to this?
