| Platform Brackets

I want to put the full teak platform that came with my boat back on, and am amazed at the prices for SS brackets. * I'm thinking about making brackets out of starboard. * Four 30-60-90 triangles basically. *Any thoughts from the experts out there? *MJ? Thanks

Wise Guy, I think you're gonna be equally amazed at the price of Starboard :o ...maybe cause I bought so much of it when I's doin' mine, but it's not inexpensive...and the brackets you're talkin' about will need 1'' material I think... ...the GOOD NEWS about Starboard is labor or LACK of it !!...you can do it all yourself w/ woodworking tools...pre-jigged router makes a perfect cutting tool for intricate work and finishing edges... ;) 8)...

Yeah, I was wondering how thick of stock I could get it in. It is so nice to work with. This is going to sound crazy, but I have used cutting board material as starboard before. Seems like the same stuff only not at 'marine' prices.

Yeah, I think it's pretty close to Starboard, just don't know about UV rating on cutting boards...I've used it too... ...I've never seen it, but hear it comes up to 3'' thick :D ...
