Default Dbetterred

Dbetterred,

I noticed you are from Rhode Island and wanted to ask you if you fish out at Block Island? I always see a V-20 out there whenever I am fishing the Block so I was curious if it was you perhaps. I launch my boat out of Point Judith and I sometimes will see a V-20 there at the launch.

Yep, I fish at block and put in at point judith when we go to the island. I normally use the ramp at oakland beach, for fishing in the bay. I'm always pulling the boat with a blue nissan pathfinder, soon to have v20 stickers on both rear side windows. Come say hi if you see me.

Went out april 16th. Mainly for a shakedown run, but took some crabs, of course. The water was only 46-47 degrees so just too cold for the toggies to show up yet. It was pretty rough and windy so we only fished a couple places for about three hours. not even a tap. I'll be out this weekend hopefully.

I'm seeing lots of dandelions.

ive been looking for the dandelions up here and havent seen any yet. from what ive heard water temps are lagging a bit and everyone is complaining about burning fuel and the fishing being slow. this is my weekend to work so there will be no fishing for me but ill be on it hot and heavy next weekend provided i get that killing a turkey thing out of the way some morning before then. tight lines and thanks for the report, andy

Dbettered,

I tow with a 95 red Dakota and I will surely keep an eye out for you the next time I am there. I haven't taken my V out of the barn yet this year, but this week is the week. We are planning on hitting the opening of the fluke season. Doing a trip on Monday May 2 weather permitting. The way Rhode Island lowered the length limit, maybe this year we will be able to get more keepers! We were throwing back fish last year 19" & 20" that were fat healthy fluke. This year with the 18 1/2" and 7 fish I hope on doing good unlike the last three years. Soon the stripers will be back in full force out at the Block and you can always catch me near Black Rock on the south side of the island. We did very well last year trolling with lead core and T-Man Tubes. Them fat lazy cows can't resist a slow moving tube with a fat sea worm on the hook!

See you on the water.
