| outboard weight

Does anyone know the weight difference between 150 HP and 200 HP. Just a ballpark figure looking for an outboard for my boat would like a 150 25" shaft but I see a lot more 200's for sale and was wondering if 200 is too heavy and would use too much gas. 40 MPH is fast enough for me. Any suggestions ? Thanks

that depends on what you are looking at? year, make, 2 stroke , 4 stroke?? Some have no weight difference others have a bidg difference, IMO, 150 is all you need on these boats, 200 nice but the added weight and gas use for maybe 5 or 10 mph just not worth it. Now that gas is near $3 and heading up!! Good Luck

Look through this site. Yes, everything is subjective but has some fair to good reference to prices, weight, etc. http://www.nadaguides.com/default.as...8&f=5693&gc=mr
