I'm not too sure about I/Os but here goes.

To try and narrow this down I have several questions for you:

1. Does it leak when the motor is running or not?
2. Does the water have a gas or exhaust smell?
3. Does it leak when on muffs or only when in the water?

This should help to eliminate the bellows or narrow it to the bellows.

Default water leak

with eng. running water comes in up to stringer height. unable to tell when water enters after water is present in eng. compartment. no smell to water or fluids etc. could it be leaking thru bell housing? amt of water reaches depth of 1 foot in about 90 mins. water is warm probably due to reaching underside of eng. or it is exhaust water. baffled

Is the boat in the water? Or on a hose?

ck your bellows hoses lift out drive up and look for rips or cracks, you have 3, ****, drive, exhaust.

Default water leak

gentlemen, boat is not on hose. lower exhaust bellow has tear in it, upper bellow newly replaced also shift cable bellow replaced. i was informed by a merc tech that even though the lower exhaust bellow may be ruptured it should not allow for water to back into exhaust. said it acts as a silencer on noise and directs water to exit thru outdrive. that said, where is the water coming from? beats me fellas thanks richard
