| Bradford, what are you doing this weekend?

These storms have me all in a tizzy. Planning on sticking the V in and possibly going just barely offshore trolling in front of Wassaw. Can't rely on any of the weather services. In the last three weeks they have been running about 10% correct.

I'm intending going near the 3 mile limit where it starts to drop off and it's only around 20'. More interested in the Spanish, so somewhere between there and the beach should produce some. These weather reports have been missing the marks. Days when we're supposed to have rain and thunderstorms, few clouds and perfect. Other days when supposed to be nice to partly cloudy, 1" of rain in an hour and winds 40-50 mph. What is further complicating the forcast is the storms are building directly over the city and then moving straight out to sea following the river to the sound and then just sitting there for a few hours. Supposed to be partly coudy early then sunny mid to late afternoon, high upper 80's with 20% chance of rain decreasing to 10% mid to late afternoon. Lets see if I get caught in this trap. Or return safely.

Gotta work all weekend Tsubaki. Went out to the north end of wassaw island on tuesday with the wifey for some sun and fun . Winds kept the weather on shore and away from us. This was the third time this year I had the V out . The ramp at the co-op under Johnny Mercer has been closed for the last few weeks (go figure, close a boat ramp for repairs in the middle of summer!) so we put in at Lazaretto. I buddy of mine bought me a new humminbird depth finder I still need to install then hopefully I can get out front and wet a line.

Didn't miss much Saturday fish wise. But I do have an excuse being this is the first attempt at trolling with the V. Think I have a better idea of stuff now from the couple of hours trying to catch something. The weather, for the most part cooperated. I had forgotten how unforgiving the breakers on the north end on the ocean side are. We went straight out watching the swells till we hit 20' of water just south of the R2W, trolled from 25' to 12' only picking up one stinking fish but at least it was better than work. Comming back in I did get the chance to play a little in 10' of water with 8' swells about 2 miles offshore. I'm slowly gaining confidence in this boat. Sunday the wife actually asked to go out, figured scoring points might a good idea. Removed the fishing stuff and just covered everything from Thunderbolt to the co-op at Turners Creek then up to Priests Landing then over to Modena at the Marine Institutes dock and back to Bona Bella. This was her first trip in the boat since we've had it. Her only responce "it was so nice not to have to think about anything for a couple of hours". I guess people that don't boat, have no idea of what they miss.

I need to show the pic of that ramp to the people at my ramp.....they want something done because at dead low you have to be careful not to drop the trailer off the end. I suggested getting a watch and a tide table.
