Wooohoooo...Got the boat today!!!
Lexie likes it! ![]() I built a carrier to fit in my class 3 on the truck. ![]() I had to fly to Academy and pick me up a paddle and made it back right before dark for a test run at the lake....I love the way it tracks and handles. I even stood up with no problems! No pics...its getting late so I flew over there trying to beat the dark. Im as happy as a pig in sheet! ![]() Cant wait to fish out of her.

Nice Yak Stink, if you don't mind me asking what did it set you back. i have been thinking about one for a while just can't seem to pull the trigger. When I was on my honeymoon in Jamaica I kayaked everyday from the resorts beach and loved it.

650 bud.....I looked long and hard and found many good yaks over the course a about 3 weeks but finally settled on this one.
Now to pimp it out! I KNOW I can find a place for starboard SOMEWHERE!

Off to a pretty good start...i think.
I made an anchor trolley. I like the loops being lower on the yak to keep it out of the way more. I used small stainless caribeners at each end and one large one in the middle so I can split it and use it for a dock line. The small ones on the end really help it slide well. ![]() Front: ![]() Rear: ![]() Here is the stake pole I made: Clip to hold the front in place.... ![]() ![]() I made it with a piece of thin wall 3/4" aluminum stock from Lowes. I cut it down from 8 to about 7'. I sealed the "handle end" with a rubber cap I got from lowes as well thats for chair legs. Obviously in the picture its too far foward. It actually tucks into the lines of the yak pretty well and out of the way when slid back some more. ![]() Here it is after I glued it on with epoxy: ![]() I made a plug and tip out of a wooden dowel that I shaved down to fit really tight. It is in with epoxy and sealed with it all over. ![]() Since it is sealed and hollow it floats. I tired it in the pool. ![]() Total cost for the pole...14 bucks. ![]() let us not forget the all important sponge. LOL ![]() ![]() ![]() Of course I added four rod holders to the ice cube chest as well. I also added paddle holders...think thats what you call em... on the sides by the handles.... I made them with some ball bungees like these from Lowes...just a few bucks for 10 of them. ![]() Ive still got a couple little details to do. I'm thinking of installing a couple of criss crossed bungees behind the front hatch to hold down the life jacket for quick access. The small hole would prove difficult in a hurry.

Looking good Stink. Remember; If you like it and want to keep it, leash everything. Rods, paddle, etc.
![]() I'm pretty sure they make a bigger hatch to replace that small front round one with too.
