Default One off Fiberglass molds

Just wanted to share a few links on one off fiberglass molds. Recently I've had the opportunity to observe the work of "strick" Chuck Strickland from the classicseacraft.com site. For those who are fairly new to fiberglass fabrication ( like I am ), I think you may find this series of pictures inspiring and educational. ;)

MJ - sniffing glue all afternoon has that effect on you. *I have a few books that I can loan you . . . if you're interested. *It's not very difficult . . . just time consuming. *

I'll post some pics of the mold that I put together (with strick's help) for the splashwell on my project boat. *I just laid up the gelcoat this afternoon. *After the temp cools down here this evening I'll lay up the glass. * *

That sure is a sexy lookin motor for a project boat. ;)

The mold work is very impressive. Will be interesting to see how the well ties in.

What does "one off" mean?

Seakindly - one off means the mold is good for one time only. *You generally break the mold apart removing the finished product after the layup of gelcoat and fiberglass. *My project boat is a 20ft Seacraft Master Angler that was beat to hell. *This piece is the splashwell that fits against the transom and under the deck. *The person who had "redone" the boat before removed the liner and the splashwell. *I was able to recreate the well (with some modifications) usings pics and taking some painful measurements. *
