Default Outer Banks Fishing

Not much happening here. Theres a big low pressure off shore, wind whipping hard and surf rough. Tried surf fishing yesterday morning with 4 oz weights on bottom rigs, couldn't keep them out. NE wind kickin hard. Cloudy and misty rain this morning. Still beats working!

At least you are out on the water and enjoying the day. Better luck next time.

Agree with G, enjoy your vacation.

Lotta guys here have gone to the Sputnik sinkers for rough water, but my feeling is , if 4 oz won t hold it, i don t want to be out there anyway.

If it s any consolation, i think this has been the windiest March, April, May we ve had in a long time

Caught a shark and a blue crab yesterday in the surf. Ocean and wind has calmed down some, still stirred up. My grandson caught a few mullet and a good size blue on Jeanette's pier this morning. Nothing biting now. Been cool and foggy since wednesday. Going back home tomorrow morning, gotta work two days and then off two more weeks. Got to replace the kitchen floor, joist and all. Not really looking forward to that.

I wish I had time, started tearing the kitchen floor out today. Busted out the ceramic tile first. Had a new air hammer I bought from Harbor Freight awhile back, worked great. Made quick work of it. Cutting out three layers of wood floor tomorrow. Maybe I can finish this thing early and do alittle fishing next week. Yall catch one for me!

I just went through that tearing out the whole house including sheetrock. Subfloor was the worst with those damn ring-shanked nails. Not only that but the den floor had a 1/2 inch hump running down the middle where the triple girder sits on concrete pier. No way to lower it other than shave it down....along with all the floor joists in proximity connected to it. Electric hand plane and probably around 12 hours of work including the tear out, shave down, insulation work, and putting the subfloor back. Used an electric hand plane - $79 at lowes. Had quoted the job with someone and it was going to be a few grand but the guy ghosted me. He saved me quite a bit of dough.
